Pink utility apron made with home dec fabric

My mom and I are participating in a large community yard sale this weekend. While reading through my Bloglovin feed I found a great tutorial to make a utility type of apron. We are going to use ours for change, paper pad, calculator, etc. during the yard sale but it would be great for a gardener, crafter and (I just thought of this!) for a long armer. What a great place to tuck scissors, marking tool, safety pins, etc.

I had some home dec fabric that I bought in the clearance aisle at Joann’s probably 2 years ago. Time to use that up!

I think they came out really cute and I love the deep pockets. I followed the directions in the tutorial but it is really written for using fat quarters. If you are using yardage, you can make some adjustments to the cutting and save a little time. (Probably should have ironed out that little crease I pressed in for centering!)

By the way, Jeni has lots of great tutorials on her blog, In Color Order. Check them out!
