About 15 years ago I discovered this book.
I was in my very late (!) 40s and had been keeping house for nearly thirty years. I was at a time in my life where I wanted to do things better, more efficiently and it was the first time in 25 years that I was going to be a full time homemaker.
I love this book! It is nearly 900 pages long and full of information from how to fold a fitted sheet to the best way to clean a sponge to proper canning techniques. It is a wonderful reference book for anyone who keeps a home.
If you have someone graduating from college and setting up their first apartment (man or woman) I really think this book would be invaluable. Even if you have been “keeping house” for a (long) while, this book may have some surprises and be a good reference for you. You can find it through Amazon or Barnes and Noble. I have it in hardback but I believe it is only available in paperback now.
